Legal

Privacy & cookies

This policy explains how Aga Property Solutions Ltd ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use agaproperty.co.uk (the "Website"), under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are the data controller.

1. What we collect

  • What you tell us — your name, email address, phone number and message when you use a form or email us, and anything you choose to tell us about your plans.
  • Technical information — your IP address and browser type, kept with a form message and in our web server's logs, to keep the Website secure and stop misuse.

Visit statistics are collected only if you allow analytics cookies (see Cookies). We do not use advertising tools, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

2. How we use it

  • to reply to your enquiry and talk to you about what you asked about;
  • to keep a record of our conversations;
  • to keep the Website secure and working, and to stop spam;
  • to meet our legal obligations.

We will only send you marketing if you have asked us to, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

3. Our legal basis

  • Consent — when you send us a form and tick the box. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Contract — when we need to process your details to take steps you've asked for before entering into an agreement.
  • Legal obligation — when the law requires us to keep or share information.
  • Legitimate interests — keeping the Website secure and running our business, where these don't override your rights.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. When you first visit, we ask which cookies you're happy for us to use. You can change your mind at any time with (also at the bottom of every page).

  • Essential cookies — always on. agasess holds a security code while you use a contact or registration form (it stops forms being sent from other websites) and is deleted when you close your browser; aga_consent remembers your cookie choice for 6 months. These are strictly necessary, so they don't need your consent.
  • Analytics cookies — only if you agree. If you choose "Accept all", or switch analytics on in Cookie settings, we may use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, with IP addresses anonymised. These cookies (names beginning _ga) last up to 2 years. If you choose "Essential only", none are set.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we never sell information about your visit. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — see allaboutcookies.org.

5. Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:

  • the providers who host our website and email, under contracts that require them to keep it confidential and secure;
  • Google, for visit statistics — only if you have allowed analytics cookies;
  • professional advisers, regulators or law enforcement where we are required or entitled to by law;
  • a buyer of our business, if that ever happens, under the same protections.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we are in touch with you and for up to two years afterwards, unless we need them longer for a legal reason. Web server logs are kept for a short period for security.

7. How we protect it

We use technical and organisational measures — including encrypted connections and restricted access — to protect your data. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
  • have your data deleted ("the right to be forgotten");
  • object to, or restrict, how we use your data;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you think we haven't handled your data properly.

9. Other websites

Links to other websites are for your information; their own privacy policies apply.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will appear on this page with a new date.
